Half Days Falconry

Located in the surrounding countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, you will be surrounded by native woodland and limestone edges. During this experience we will fly owls and hawks and a demonstration up close and personal with our falcon flying to the lure if time permits.

You will be shown falconry techniques from weight management, food, husbandry and how to use a lure.

We shall take a walk around the wild meadows with the Barn Owl, depending on the time of year we may see wild orchids, Buzzards, Kites and possibly Peregrines in the air. The Barn Owl is well suited to the natural environment with silent flight to the glove.

We then fly another of our stunning owls, the Ural Willow or Chopper our Bubook owl.

The adventure then carries on as we venture out with the Harris Hawks through the native woodland. The birds follow us as we stroll around. This experience is like no other in the UK with the birds following us surrounded by spectacular scenery of Penderyn. Known as the wolves of the sky we become part of the pack, working alongside them flushing for quarry.

We finish the experience with Takora our Chilean Blue Eagle. With a wingspan of 5ft, what an inspiring finish to a great experience.

This experience lasts for 3 to 4 hours and will finish with a complementary tea/coffee at the county manor house Ty Newedd. And if you really fancy it you can visit the whiskey distillery of Penderyn, a world famous drink.
