The full days experience at Pantcefnyffordd Farm in Penderyn is designed for all bird and countryside lovers. The grounds offer us a superb location for experiencing handling and flying of birds of prey in Wales.

This days experience is one that you will not forget, whilst we are flying our raptors there is also the chance of seeing Dippers, Red Kite, Buzzards, and Peregrine Falcons

To start the day we will have a full introduction into Conservation of the birds we are flying, the history of falconry, husbandry, weighing and handling our birds of prey. Your setting will be the Brecon Beacons National Park, with stunning limstone crags and ancient woodland.

We will start with our team of owls by flying them in the pastures of the farm and also the church yard. During the summer months the paddocks will be full of wild orchids and a number of butterfly species. The species that we will be taking around the circular walk are the Barn Owl, Bert, Willow our beautiful Ural Owl and Chopper our Bubook Owl. With silent flights to the glove this is a great experience for any owl lover.

We then visit the Ty Newedd countyr house for light sandwich and tea of coffee. the food and service a superb. You can visit their website here http://www.tynewyddcountryhotel.co.uk

In the afternoon we take our Harris Hawks around the beautiful setting of the national park. The Harris Hawks follow us around the woodland walk with re call flights back to the glove. Fly between the old oaks at around 40mph our team of birds will show you exactly how they operate as a pack hunter.

Once back we let one of our falcons free, hoping with the correct weather conditions our birds will gain height of 1000ft. We will take a walk around the meadows watch the falcon follow on and enjoying the freedom. The bird will then be encouraged to pass by you in a controlled manner at terrific speeds exceeding 100mph.

Then to our Eagle or Vulture for the final flying experience of the day. With a wing spans of 6ft to 8ft these species are truly remarkable. You will be informed on where the species can be found, their conservation status and diet.

You can take as many photographs as you wish on the day and Lewis can also use your camera to take images of the birds when on the fist.

This is an amazing experience that you will find truly inspiring.

A wonderful experience in a wonderful location.
